"The ruling party continues to malign Army which is not only adding uncertainty but also damaging country's image while the military is reacting very responsibly" they said. PML-N continued to raise slogans about the economic revival while inflicting damage to it and now the country is being destabilized in the name of democracy, they added.
VOP General Secretary Brigadier Syed Masud ul Hassan (retd) said there is nothing wrong in the comment of Army over the state of the economy as many local and foreign institutions have done the same. The Army which is facing many internal and external threats cannot remain unconcerned with the state of the economy.
"If a financial emergency is declared, as believed by some quarters, the military will face budget cuts which will please the countries which are against Pakistan's nuclear programme," Hassan apprehended. The VOP wanted to know whether IMF, World Bank and other institutions were willing to deal with Ishaq Dar or not who is facing charges of corruption but still serving as finance minister, said Hassan.
