That the provinces and the centre have ended their squabbles over the China Pakistan Economic Corridor route, etc, is a development that will certainly augur well for country's economic prospects. According to a Business Recorder news item yesterday "CPEC facing no Centre-provinces bickering: Ahsan", the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal has said that the federal government will work together with all stakeholders and remove all concerns of the provinces.

The minister reportedly expressed these views while addressing a meeting held to review the progress of ongoing projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in various sectors. The meeting was chaired by Ahsan Iqbal and attended by Secretary Planning Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, high officials from Chinese embassy and the concerned provincial and federal ministries.

The report also said that the meeting discussed the projects of various sectors, including communications, railways, infrastructure, energy, Gwadar Port and special industrial zones. That sanity has ultimately gained ground is a fact that has found its best expression from planning minister's jubilation over greater harmony and understanding among provinces and between the Centre and provinces insofar as the planning and execution of the CPEC projects is concerned. But the million dollar question is: How did this happen? The planning minister is therefore required to share this 'news' with the nation without any loss of time.
