Amicable, soft-spoken and brutally honest were the characteristics of veteran TV actor Farooq Zameer who passed away on Thursday. Unlike many other TV artistes, Farooq showed a certain measure of finesse in various role that he played since the early 1990s. He earned accolades for his performance in various PTV series, including Guriya, Surag-e-Zindagi and Shamali.

Farooq will always be remembered for his sophistication and a highly professional approach to work. Pakistan Television is required to introduce a chapter on the work of Farooq Zameer at its training academy. No doubt, Lahore TV has become poorer after his death.
