"Our Father of the Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah RA said 'work, work and work' for the survival and prosperity of Pakistan. We cannot create a respectable status among the nations of the world until we are economically strong and industrially viable. But the government machinery does not like to work. It is conscious of its own security needs, and is enjoying protocol. Even they have no plan to control criminal activities in the largest revenue generating city, Karachi".
He pointed to the uncontrollable law-and-order situation, acts of terrorism, sectarian violence, target killings, the ransom mafia, street crimes, car lifting and other crimes which are increasing day by day. He noted that heaps of garbage is everywhere in Karachi and there is no arrangement for cleanliness. For this both the provincial and federal governments are responsible. They are dreaming that everything is just fine. This apathy of attitude is highly deplorable.
He further said that at present our industries are passing through a very critical phase due to the law- and-order situation. The number of people below the poverty line is increasing. The population is deprived of health services, potable water, ordinary education and other essentials of daily life. Our people are crying in distress due to sky rocketing inflation, but those in the power corridors are in a deep sleep.
He appealed to Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Corps Commander Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza, DG Rangers Major General Mohammad Saeed, and the chief of the Sindh Police to take immediate cognisance of the gravity of the situation and direct the government of Sindh to take appropriate action in the larger interest of the country.
