On International Labour Day, Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid tributes to the tilling and toiling classes of the country for their contribution and struggle and termed them as the backbone of the nation, state, economy and the society.

In his message on International Labour Day, he pointed out that his party derives major support from the tilling and toiling classes.

"PPP's struggle for the rights of peasants, labour and other working classes is unmatched in the past. Progress, prosperity and justice to these classes are the prime part of our goals and mission," Bilawal maintained.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the PPP government in Sindh passed Sindh Employees' Old-Age Benefits (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the Sindh Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Bill, 2015 just two days before International Labour Day, which speaks of the height of attachment of the PPP to the Labour class.

He said that the purpose of launching Peoples Labour Bureau (PLB) was to provide an active and energetic forum for the labour and working class to unite and chalk-out strategy for a continuous movement for labour rights.
