Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Mineral Development Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli on Sunday said that for strengthening police force, building confidence between police and people and performing of police duties in better manner all police stations of the province were being converted into model police stations.

Addressing a function held on the occasion of the completion of 15th Intelligence Course in Abbottabad Police School of Intelligence, she said that all modern police facilities would be available in these model police stations. She said that the government would provide funds for the project and it will not be made victim of the funds shortage. She said that one Superintendent of Police (SP) will be the in-charge of four model police stations.

Tahirkheli said that six new schools of intelligence had been established in the province.

She said that for bringing further improvement in the police system, the provincial government was introducing Police Act, which will strengthen the police force. She said that those who have completed the intelligence school course would also bring their experience in the benefit of other police officers.

The provincial minister said that the government has made KP police non-political and now there was no space for political interference in police force.

On this occasion, she paid tributes to Inspector General of Police (IGP), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Durrani and said his efforts and leadership has turned KP Police into a people-friendly force.

Later, the provincial minister distributed certificates among the police officers and congratulated them.
