He described the withholding tax on banking transactions as "jugga tax" and directed the party legal team to file a writ against it. Later, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's media advisor Jameel Soomro rejected statements being attributed to the party chairman.
MONITORING DESK adds: Presiding over a meeting in Dubai, Pakistan People's Party's Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has demanded the federal institutions that they must inform the Sindh government in advance before arresting any political leader and worker.
The meeting reviewed the situation that emerged following the arrest of Dr Asim Hussain. Asif Ali Zardari also expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of Sindh government ministers and asked them to improve their performance otherwise they would not be part of the provincial cabinet. The Chief Minister of Sindh briefed Zardari about the political situation of Sindh particularly after arrest of Dr Asim Hussain.
Asif Ali Zardari's sister Faryal Talpur, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal, Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and other party leaders also attended the meeting. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned a meeting of the Apex Committee on September 10 to discuss the implementation of the national action plan against terrorism.
