Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said the entire nation was supporting the country's armed forces in the war against terror and the Pakistani nation would overcome every challenge. "The goal of achieving peace is not very far and I have full confidence that with the help of Almighty Allah, we will win this war," the Prime Minister said while visiting the Corps Headquarters Peshawar where he was briefed by the Corps Commander Peshawar about operation "Zarb-e-Azb."

He was accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Lieutenant-General Abdul Qadir Baloch (retd).

The Prime Minister was briefed about different stages of operation Zarb-e-Azb and the present status of internally displaced people (IDPs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas that are contiguous to Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

The Prime Minister said the pace of success of armed forces in the operation "Zarb-e-Azb" is very encouraging. Moreover, he said the Government and armed forces would ensure provision of all possible help to the affected tribals and the Federal Government would provide resources in this regard. Earlier, the Prime Minister laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada at the Headquarters of 11 Corps and prayed for the departed souls.

The Prime Minister also held a meeting with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak at the Governor House.
