The Inspector General of Police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Khan Durrani, has said that Mansehra and Haripur police have set excellent example of people-friendly and professional policing by arresting the three members of a gang involved in the alleged rape case with a girl student in Mansehra. This, he said while giving cash prizes and commendation certificates to Mansehra and Haripur police who arrested the accused within short period of 12 hours.

It merits mention that a FA student was gang raped by three people while the girl was going home after appearing in the intermediate examination at a local college. A police investigation team headed by DSP Headquarters Mansehra was constituted to work out the case and information was passed to the police of the whole region.

The team with their extreme professionalism and efficiency traced and arrested the culprits within 12 hours of the incident. The gang leader Qari Naseer Ahmad was arrested by Haripur police late night at 3:00 am at Naka Bandi while he was fleeing and his other two accomplices, Faizan alias Faizi and Muhammad Hussain, were arrested from Mansehra.

The accused used to make video through camera installed in the vehicle and blackmailed the victim by threatening to upload it on the "facebook" if the victim reported to the police.

The IGP paid rich tributes to the efforts and professionalism of whole investigation team especially of ASI Ijaz of Haripur police who made breakthrough by arresting the fleeing ring leader in Haripur. The IGP awarded the police party with commendation certificates and cash prizes. Those who awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes included DSP headquarters Mansehra Zulfiqar Jadoon, SHO of City PS Mansehra Raja M Aftab, ASI Ijaz of Haripur, ASI Amir (Mansehra) and constables Nasir, Umar Khan, Hafeez, Iftikhar, Atta-ur-Rehman and lady constable Bushra of Mansehra police.
