Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed interior ministry to remove the name of former Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan from Exit Control List. Former Chairman Muhammad Ali Ghulam Muhammad was required by National Accountability Bureau in the multi-billion rupees Ogra scam. He had approached the court for removal of his name from ECL.

The petitioner represented by counsel Muhammad Jaffar Raza said that when he returned from his personal foreign visit on 6th June, 2013, he was informed at Karachi International Airport that his name was placed on ECL and his passport was seized by FIA.

He said that his name was placed on ECL without following the legal procedure, hence he requested the court to direct Interior ministry to remove his name from ECL and allow to visit abroad to make arrangements for admissions of his daughters.
