The National Database and Registration Authority charged with the establishment of a new registration system for the entire population of Pakistan opened a new Nadra Registration Centre at Muridke on Thursday to facilitate more than 1.5 million rural population to get the computerised national identity cards at their door steps.

Inaugurating the new centre, Director General Nadra Lahore region Brigadier Javed Iqbal Khan (Retd) said that the government has met an old demand of the people of Tehsil Muridke. Chairman Nadra Tariq Malik had taken special interest in setting up a new registration centre in this populated area of the region to provide CNICs to the people nearer to their homes, he added. Javed Iqbal Khan said besides its normal functions, Nadra centre will also provide fast track service to the people under which the citizens will also be able to get Smart National Identity Cards in five to seven days in a peaceful and calm environment.
