A 25-member federal cabinet, including 16 federal ministers and nine state ministers were administered oaths of office on Friday. The cabinet members were sworn by President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidency. The oath-taking ceremony was attended, among others, by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif‚ the Chairman of the Senate‚ Speaker of the National Assembly‚ parliamentarians‚ Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee‚ all services chiefs‚ politicians and diplomats.

Among the federal ministers are: Muhmmad Ishaq Dar, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir Baloch (Retd)‚ Shahid Khaqan Abbasi‚ Rana Tanveer Hussain‚ Khwaja Muhammad Asif‚ Khwaja Saad Rafiq‚ Zahid Hamid‚ Sardar Muhammad Yousuf‚ Pervez Rashid‚ Kamran Micheal‚ Sikandar Bosan‚ Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashdi‚ Ahsan Iqbal‚ Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir and Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi.

The Ministers of State are: Muhammad Baleeghur Rehman‚ Usman Ibrahim‚ Khurram Dastagir Khan‚ Jam Mir Kamal‚ Sheikh Aftab Ahmed‚ Abdul Hakeem Baloch‚ Saira Afzal Tarar‚ Anushe Rehman and Pir Aminul Hasnat.

Most new ministers are from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Two of the cabinet members are from Sindh - State Minister Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashidi of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and Federal Minister Rais Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi of National Peoples Party (NPP). Similarly, Federal Minister Abdul Qadar Baloch and State Minister Jam Kamal Khan are from Balochistan.

The NPP has already announced its merger with the PML-N. Most of the ministers are from Punjab. Only two women, Anusha Rehman and Saira Afzal Tarar, were included as ministers of state.

Federal Ministers: Ishaq Dar would hold the portfolio of finance‚ revenue EAD and statistics‚ Chaudhry Nisar Interior and Narcotics‚ Khwaja Asif Water and Power‚ Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Petroleum and Natural Resources‚ Pervez Rashid Information and Broadcasting‚ Qadir Baloch States and Frontier Regions (Safron)‚ Zahid Hamid Law and Justice‚ Rana Tanveer Defence Production‚ Sardar Yousaf Religious Affairs‚ Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi Industries and Production‚ Sikandar Bosan Food Security and Research‚ Chaudhry Birjees Tahir Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan‚ Khwaja Saad Rafiq Railways‚ Sadruddin Rashidi Human Resource Development and Overseas Pakistanis‚ Kamran Michael Ports and Shipping and Ahsan Iqbal Planning and Development.

Ministers of State: Mian Baleeghur Rehman has been appointed as the minister of state for education‚ Khurram Dastagir Khan Science and Technology‚ Usman Ibrahim Housing and Works‚ Sheikh Aftab Ahmed Parliamentary Affairs‚ Jam Kamal Khan Petroleum and Natural Resources‚ Abdul Hakeem Baloch Railways‚ Anusha Rehman Ahmed Khan Information Technology and Telecom‚ Saira Afzal Tarar Health Sciences Regulation and Co-ordination‚ Pir Muhammad Amir ul Hasnat Religious Affairs.

Advisors and Special Assistants to the PM: Former Finance Minister Sartaj Aziz has been appointed as the prime minister's adviser on national security and foreign affairs while Captain Shujaat Azeem (retired) as the adviser on aviation. Sanaullah Zehri from Balochistan and Tariq Fatmi have been appointed as Special Assistants to the Prime Minister.
