STRATEGIC COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE

Karachi Education Initiative (KEI) entered into a comprehensive Strategic Collaboration Agreement with the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, in April 2009, to establish KSBL. Cambridge has taken a lead partnership role in setting up of KSBL including faculty recruitment, faculty planning and development, curriculum design, incorporating the local business perspective and research development.

MBA PROGRAMME

Open House Session on 20th April, 2013

Overview

The KSBL MBA is a full-time 21-month programme. There is one intake per year and the programme commences in August with a compulsory three-week Foundations Term. Students are expected to participate in a six to eight week internship after one year of studies. Admissions for Fall 2013 are now open.

Curriculum

The KSBL curriculum, designed in collaboration with Cambridge University's Judge Business School, prepares you to create and lead sustainable organizations in a complex and rapidly changing world. In addition to building a solid foundation in core business functions, the KSBL MBA substantively integrates ethics component into all classes, helping to shape global ethical leaders. The general management focus of the programme is supplemented with specific courses to guide and develop creative entrepreneurs as well as courses where students engage and consult with new or emerging ventures and NGO organizations.

CEO Mentorship Programme

In line with the mission to educate the next generation of "Transformational Leaders", KSBL initiated the CEO Mentorship Programme (CMP) and has pioneered the concept of uniting the top leaders of the corporate sector with the young aspiring "leaders in making" to foster knowledge sharing and development of critical thinking skills among its students.

The purpose of this programme is to give KSBL students the exclusive opportunity of being advised by renowned leaders in a non-classroom setting. CEOs who have achieved record successes in major Pakistani Corporations and Multinational Companies are acting as mentors to the KSBL young leaders-to-be. By discussing business-related topics, global issues and industry trends, students are gaining a fresh insight into the responsibilities of being business leaders and managers thus enabling them to be better equipped to deal with real-life business decisions in their future careers.

Career Service & Placement

KSBL Career Services and Placement team helps its students achieve top career success from the MBA Programme. Our relationships and reputation within the business community will help assure that MBA students are exposed to an extensive range of placement opportunities for internships at the time of graduation.

Career Fairs and Employer Events will bring together highly sought-after employers to meet and recruit KSBL graduates.

Admissions

At KSBL, admission into the MBA programme is based solely on merit. KSBL believes in nurturing the talented youth of Pakistan. We have adopted a NEED-BLIND admissions policy. This means that every application for admission is evaluated only on the basis of academic merit and personal abilities, independent of the applicant's financial status and capability to pay. A student with minimum 16 years of education resulting in a Master's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent (equivalency certificate required) from an HEC recognised University/Institution is eligible to apply. Minimum two years of professional work experience is preferred but not compulsory and a Test Score of GMAT, GRE or GAT (General) forms an integral part of the application.

Students completing 16 years of education in Spring 2013 are also eligible to apply.

Financial Aid

Once admission is offered, the Financial Aid office at KSBL then reviews the applicant's financial status and structures a financial assistance package suitable to the applicant's requirements. The assistance may consist of scholarships, Interest Free Loans, Qarz-e-Hasna, Work Study Programme, amongst others.

"The commitment to maintain a need-blind admission policy is not just a slogan for KSBL; it is reality. Financial support offered by KSBL was more than my expectations. Thanks KSBL!"
