At least six people including two robbers were killed in different incidents of violence in the city here on Friday, police and rescue sources said. Two alleged dacoits were killed in a robbery bid in Daba Colony, Saeedabad area in the jurisdiction of Saeedabad police station.

The deceased were identified as Tariq, 25, and Baber, 25. SHO Saeedabad police station said that three men barged into an oil depot situated in Daba Colony and tried to loot but on resistance of the shop owner, the dacoits opened fire at him but he escaped. In retaliation, the shop owner also fired at dacoits as a result one of the dacoit, Babar died on the spot while the other sustained severe injuries. The injured and body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) where the injured dacoit, Tariq, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. He said their third accomplice managed to flee.

Police has registered a case on the complaint of shop owner and started investigation. In another incident a body of a woman with torture marks was recovered from a house in Madina Colony, Orangi Town in the limits of Mominabad police station. Police said the victim was identified as Um-e-Kulsoom alias Sumira w/o Shahzad. Police said the woman was killed by her husband on domestic dispute. They said the accused had escaped after committing the crime. Rescue sources said she was brutally tortured before being strangled to death. Police registered an FIR 440/12 under section 302 against her husband. The body shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Similarly, a body of a man was found from Old Haji Camp in the limits of Napier Police Station. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till filing of this report. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities

A three-day old body of a man was recovered from Gulbai falling in the limits of Shershah police station. Police said that area people informed police that a body was lying in the premises of Gulbai Government High School from where it was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, an elderly man was crushed to death by a speeding truck at Super Highway in the limits of Sachal police station. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgrduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
