The total export cargo of 39,014 tonnes comprised 29,631 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,157 tonnes of general cargo; 8,226 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,932 tonnes of cement and 5,294 tonnes of rice. As many as 5,626 containers comprising 2,746 containers import and 2,880 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 686 of 20's and 716 of 40's loaded while 356 of 20's and 136 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 927 of 20's and 258 of 40's loaded containers while 293 of 20's and 572 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There are five ships namely Hyundai Bangkok, Kota Ganteng, MT Lahore, Capri Cement and Densa Jaguar with two container ships, one oil tanker, one cement carrier and one DAP carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There are six vessels viz APL Brisbane, Abtin-1, Kota Ganteng, Santa Rufina, Clear and Zao Galaxy with four container ships, one coal carrier and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berth. There are four ships namely APL Brisbane, Abtin-1, Santa Rufina and Marsus with three container ships and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday.
There are three vessels viz Cap Verde, APL Guangzhou and Oriental Kerria with two container ships and one ethanol tanker respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz YM Taichung, UASC Samarra, Lodestar Genesis, Med Nordic, Bunga Kantan, Med Nordic and African Ibis with two container ships, two chemical carriers, one carbon carrier and one steel ship respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
The total export cargo of 20,036 tonnes includes 1,629 tonnes of rice and 18,207 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV Nedlloyed Darke sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CV CMA CGM Rossini, MT Argent Fressia and MT Gas Husky with containers, chemicals and LPG mix are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV Nedlloyed Darke, CV CMA CGM Rossini, MV Beautiful Rena, MV Dogan Bey, MT Argent Fressia, MT Gas Husky, MT Al-Soor-II and MV Global Challenge are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, wheat, cement, chemicals, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely CMA CGM Amber, Hammonia Pacificum, Al-Marzoqah, Argent Aster and Meta with containers, furnace oil, chemicals and wheat respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are three vessels viz CV CMA CGM Amber, CV Hammonia Pacificum and MV Argent Aster with containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.
