At least four people were killed, including a police constable, in violence in the city on Thursday, police and rescue sources said. Four armed men on motorcycles shot dead a man named Sibgatullah, 30, son of Doda Khan in Khadim at a local restaurant in Solangi Goth in the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth police station. Two more persons were inured in the firing incident. The injurerd were named Abdul Hameed, 35, and Ali Hassan, 30.

Police said that cousin of the deceased lodged an FIR against Farooq Nazir, Najeebullaj alias Socket, Nazar Pathan and Tahir, whom he believed were involved in the incident. The body and the injured persons were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A police constable was shot dead while another was injured when they foiled a robbery attempt at a bank branch in Orangi's Sector-11 in the limits of Orangi Town police station. The deceased was identified Mohammad Aslam while the injured one was identified as Mohammad Jawaid. Both of them were deployed in the Orangi Town police station. The policeman's body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Salamullah, 28, was gunned down near Ghousia Chowrangi in the Gulshan-e-Behar area in the limits of Pakistan Bazar police station. The deceased lived in the same area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A man got injured in a firing incident in Usmanabad in the limits of Kalakot police station. The injured was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi.

Another 29-year-old man named Zubair Baloch was also injured in a firing incident near Madina Masjid in Baldia Town. The injured was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Meanwhile, a man was killed near his house in Landhi sector 1 near Fire Brigade office within the limits of Landhi police station.

An official said that the deceased Altaf Hussain 31, s/o Abdul Jaleel, was returning to home after closing his chicken shop. When he reached near his house two armed riders shot him dead and escaped. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy. Meanwhile, Inspector General of Sindh Police Fayaz Ahmad Laghari on Thursday directed police to ensure strict security measures on the occasion of the 269th Urs of Sufi Saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
