Addressing a public meeting in Panar, Mingora City, the former interior minister said that some elements were out to postpone general elections in the pretext of uncertain situation in the country. He said that both federal and provincial governments had not committed justice with the sacrifices of the people of Swat.
Others who addressed were included provincial general secretary, Bakht Baidar Khan provincial deputy secretary general, Fazal-ur-Rehman Nono district president, Sher Bahadar Khan candidate from the provincial assembly constituency PK-81, Afzal Bacha, while provincial president, Sikandar Hayat Khaqn Sherpao were also present on the occasion.
He termed uncertain situation as grave adding some elements wanted to defer elections while making the excuse of security situation. However, he was hopeful that the polls will be held on schedule During the public meeting, Dalil Khan, Kamal Khan Shamozai, Sultan-e-Room announced to joining Qaumi Watan Party.
Aftab Ahmad Sherpao said that the people of Swat had rendered matchless sacrifices for restoration of peace and both federal and provincial governments did nothing for them and rather drain off of foreign assistances sent by the comity of the world for the oppressed people of the region. Due to such wrongdoings, he said the provincial government had lost the trust of the donor agencies.
Coming hard on ANP, the chairman QWP said that it had did nothing in last five years and looting the people with both hands, which had resulted in increasing problems and difficulties of the people. He said that after coming into power, they will first redress the difficulties of the people of Swat and will take practical steps for the rehabilitation of devastated infrastructure in the area.
