Upper reaches of Gilgit-Baltistan received snowfall on the night between Saturday and Sunday increasing chilly weather forced the people to remain in door. According to the reports, people are facing shortage of gas, food commodities and medicines.

In Ghizer's Phinder Gopes and Yasin Tehsil, there is extreme shortage of gas while the people are also facing water shortage because the tap and spring water have frozen. People have blamed that the gas-and-food supply chains were indulging in hoarding and black marketing due to shortage in supply.

Several seasonal epidemics have also spread and due to closure of roads and hill paths people could not go to dispensaries and hospitals.

Meanwhile two real brothers died in Ghizer due to suffocation. According to the details, the two brothers Anwar and Mehbub slept at night after burning coal due to severity of the cold. As the door was shut, the coal fire burnt all the Oxygen and they died of suffocation. Their bodies were recovered on Sunday morning after breaking the door.

Meanwhile the temperature recorded in Skardu was minus15 degrees centigrade.
