The attacks, he insisted, are continued violation of Pakistan's national sovereignty. "It's counter productive [and] we'll raise voice for an end to drone strikes and there will be no compromise on this," he maintained.
The PTI leader warned that US drone strikes in Pakistan's tribal areas were pushing people towards extremist groups. "Drone strike is not the solution to eradicate the scourge of terrorism," he said, adding that both the US and Pakistan should sit together to find out a tangible solution to the problem.
He alleged that the drone attacks were being carried out in connivance with Pakistani leadership, for which, the regime will have to pay a heavy price for its double standards. Scores of elderly people, children and women have been killed due to drone attack which, he added, has pushed the country into militancy besides increase in suicide attacks.
In the first phase, the lawyers' wing of the party, he added, will raise voice against drone attacks by holding press conferences in all the provinces of the country. In the second phase, the ambassadors of foreign countries will be given briefing about drone attacks.
In the third phase, the lawyers association throughout the country will hold countrywide protest demonstrations against US drone strike while, in the fourth and final phase, Hamid Khan said that international bar associations will be contacted to raise voice against illegal US drone in Pakistan.
To a question about the tragic assassination of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Bashir Ahmed Bilour, he said that his martyrdom reflects that Pakistani nation was not coward rather they have the guts to defeat the militancy with courage.
About possible election alliance with Awami Tehreek of Tahirul Qadri, he said at the moment, the party has no intention to go for an alliance with Qadri-led Awami Tehreek. However, any decision in this regard, will be taken by the senior party leadership, he added.
