The participants of the walk carried the banners and play cards having the slogans in favour of the working women. Talking to the newsmen, the commissioner said that the purpose of holding of walk was to raise awareness in general public about the rights of the women and to develop positive thinking among the colleagues of the working women for providing secure and conducive environment to the women at their work place.
He said that working ladies are playing their important role for the development and progress of the country by utilising their capabilities and skills so as they should be given due respect for building the confidence among them. He maintained that the divisional administration has taken various steps for the betterment and development of the women and provided congenial atmosphere in the govt. offices in regard to women employees.
MPA Anjum Safdar highlighted the steps taken by the CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for the welfare of the women and said that women Empowerment Package has been introduced for the economic and social betterment of the women. She said that under directions of CM Punjab seminars, walks and other programmes have been conducted from tehsil to provincial level for the recognition of the services of the working ladies besides identifying the different issues and problems confronted to the working women at their place of employment to redress them on solid footings. The walk was also attended by Addl. District Collector Syed Bilal Haider, AC Shafiullah Khan, EDO CD Asif Tarar, DO Social Welfare Chaudhry Sarfraz, Gender Specialist Muhammad Ehsan, Deputy Director Colleges Muhammad Idrees, ACR Mahr Shafqatullah Mushtaq, Assistant Director Colleges Shazia Hamdani, Principal Sandal College Nargis Farooq and others.
