Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) accusing the administration of a sugar mill of exploitation of sugarcane growers have urged the Chief Minister Punjab to constitute a high level committee to conduct an enquiry into the matter. According to KBP Secretary Information Haji Muhammad Ramzan the Board received complaints about the alleged connivance of the sugar mill with middlemen of the area for buying sugarcane on lower rates.

He said that the middlemen installed private weighing bridges in the area and were paying hard cash of Rs 140 to 150 per maund to growers but making illegal and unjustifiable deductions at the time of payment. A delegation of the KBP also met the DCO Chiniot to discuss with him injustices against sugar cane growers and also filed an application.
