He cancelled the leaves of all officers/staff members assigned different tasks for celebrating the annual Urs and directed them to complete their assignments by December 25, 2012, without fail. This he directed while presiding over a meeting held at Cultural Rest House Bhitshah today to review the arrangements for marking 269th Annual Urs Celebrations of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) with befitting manner.
Addressing the meeting, the Additional Commissioner Hyderabad Fareed Ahmed Junejo directed Sindh Police officers also to call Rangers for its deployment to meet any eventuality of law and order and asked them that latest equipment including installation of CCTV, metal detectors, walk-through gates must be ensured on the ground before commencement of the Urs Celebrations.
The meeting was informed that more than 2,000 police personnel in addition to one Platoon of Rangers would be deployed to maintain the law-and-order situation and maintain the smooth traffic flow during the mella. He also directed the health management to declare emergency in all Local Health Centres and Hospitals and to ensure medical staff with all medicines are available there
The Additional Commissioner Hyderabad Fareed Ahmed Junejo further directed to the local administration and health department for assigning food inspectors to ensure that the food which is to be supplied specially by the private restaurants and hotels to the devotees is of standard. He directed the HESCO management to exempt the Bhitshah from load shedding and also to arrange standby generator to meet any eventuality of technical fault. He directed them also to arrange blood bank, screening of hepatitis B&C and providing on the spot medical treatment to the devotees through their mobile units.
The meeting was also informed that on December 28th, the Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khohro would inaugurate while on 30th December 2012 the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony of 3-day 269th Annual Urs Celebrations of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and also to distribute Latif Awards among the writers, artists, poets and other individuals and organisations on their best performances.
The meeting was also informed that Sughar-an-Jee-Katchery and an International Adabi Conference would also be arranged by Provincial Cultural Department on the 1st and 2nd day of annual Urs, ie, 28th and 29th December 2012, respectively. The Provincial Cultural Department would also establish a model village of Sindh to demonstrate cultural, social and economical life style of Sindhi people.
