Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has said that the new generation is lucky for having access to flood of knowledge both in shape of hard and soft copies and they must avail the opportunities not only in their own interests but also with the spirit to serve the country and the nation. "Whenever, I get a chance, I always will gift you books", he added.

Addressing a group of more than 200 talented student of Islamia Collegiate School; a subsidiary institution of Islamia College University Peshawar, who were specially invited to visit Governor's House, Peshawar, the Governor further realised the students that they are also lucky for being boarders of this historic institution whose graduates have been contributing overwhelmingly even today.

A student of 10th class read out his self created poetry and another presented two beautiful portraits to the Governor while a number of others including girl students of junior classes demonstrated tableaus, sketches and songs and received appreciation. Vice Chancellor of Islamia College University, Professor: Dr Noor Jehan, Principal of the school, Qadir Khan was also present on this occasion besides the faculty members. The Governor also presented a cheque amounting to Rs 1 million to the management to help it in promoting co-curricular activities of the school.

It is because of this very institution, the Governor said, this region, from where we all belong, has produced men of great caliber in all fields of life who have earned fame both for themselves and the country and their services for humanity and the country will always be remembered with great pride. This precious value of this great institution, he added, needs to be maintained.

Highlighting the importance of education, the Governor said, the quality life of the developed nations what we witness today, is because of the focus, they have been putting towards promotion of education. Though, he added, we as a nation could not contribute the magnitude of required resources towards this vital sector of life in the past, yet no effort is being spared now to ensure availability of better educational opportunities to the coming generations.

Being Governor of the province and the Chancellor of public sector universities, he added, it is always his earnest effort to participate in the academic and co-curricular activities of the educational institutions and in future too, they would find him amongst them, whenever any opportunity will be available. The Vice Chancellor, Islamia College University Professor Dr Noor Jehan also spoke on this occasion and thanked the Governor for taking keen interest in promoting both academic and non-academic pursuits of the university and its subsidiary institutions.
