Soon after the beginning of the proceedings, Mufti Kifayatullah of JUI-F, Inayatullah (PML-N), Nighat Orakzai (PPP), Qalandar Khan Lodhi (PML-Q), Saqibullah Khan Chamkani (ANP) and other legislators took the floor one by one and condemned the attacks on polio workers terming it an inhuman act. The legislators said that they would not bow before the terrorists and vowed to play active role in the campaign against polio.
They also expressed heartiest sympathies with the families of those killed during the polio vaccination campaign. They demanded of the provincial government to continue the drive in more vigorous manner to ensure eradication of polio. They also called for an exemplary punishment to the culprits involved in the heinous crime.
Earlier, in the question-hour session, Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Arshad Abdullah warned the patwaris who were reluctant to leave the charge of their duties despite transfers. Later, the chair adjourned the proceedings of the house till Monday.
