"Civil servants owe their first and foremost allegiance to the law and the Constitution. They are not bound to obey orders from superiors which are illegal or are not in accordance with accepted practices and rule-based norms," said a judgement authored by Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja.
However, the spokesperson added, certain civil servants have been engaged in lodging false FIRs against the PTI leaders and workers. Such acts have been taken to marginalize the PTI's popularity and to get political advantage to manipulate the forthcoming elections results, he added.
"The PTI has established a monitoring cell which would collect the data of all those civil servants who have been engaged in launching vindictive actions against the PTI leaders and workers across country, especially in Punjab," the spokesperson added. The PTI cell would monitor the activities of all such officials and they would be held accountable in the near future for becoming a party on the behest of the regime and targeting the political workers on behest of the ruling parties, the spokesperson concluded.-PR
