The Taiwan Flour Millers' Association has issued a tender to purchase 75,600 tonnes of milling wheat to be sourced from the United States, European traders said on Wednesday. Tender deadline is Friday, December 21. The tender sought a range of wheat types for shipment in two consignments from the US Columbia River district on the US Pacific coast.

Some 40,650 tonnes was sought for shipment between February 2-16, 2013, comprising 22,300 tonnes of dark northern spring wheat, 8,750 tonnes of hard red winter and 9,600 tonnes of western white wheat. Some 34,950 tonnes was sought for shipment between February 19-Mar. 5, 2013, comprising 24,550 tonnes of dark northern spring and 10,400 tonnes of hard red winter. In its last reported tender on November 15, the association purchased 68,200 tonnes from the United States after seeking offers for the same volume. The association is traditionally a major buyer of US wheat.
