During assembly's question-hour, as many as 30 questions out of 40 'Un-starred Questions and Their Replies' and 25 questions out of 39 'Question for Oral Answer and Their Replies' were not received. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of PML-N said that the speaker should give ruling for taking such a long time for giving answers to the questions. He said that often the ministers did not give importance to the questions of the MPs. Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that if the concerned departments of the ministries were not following the instructions of the ministers then they should be de-seated and for this purpose the Election Commission should be approached. "There is no use of the ministers sitting in the House and doing nothing," he added.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah said that it may be acceptable if the concerned ministry did not give answers to the questions of the members for once but if he was not giving answer for the second time it would tantamount to contempt of the parliament. "Speaker you may take action against them, we will see who will block your action," he added. Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, who was chairing the House, said that there were no answer to 25 questions of Ministry of Water and Power.
Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that this issue should be refereed to privilege committee. Khurshid Ahmed Shah said that the speaker should take notice of such attitude of the ministries and their secretaries. All the ministries and their secretaries should be summoned in the privilege committee of the House, he said.
State Minister for Information Syed Sumsan Bukhari said that the bureaucrats in the Ministries were not ready to follow the instructions of state ministers and parliamentarians. He said the Speaker should give ruling that the ministers and secretaries should be present in the House during session. While admitting the views of the members, State Minister for Water and Power Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi said that he totally agree with the members. He said that he had talked to Federal Secretary Water and Power Nargis Sethi and she told him that instructions had been issued to concerned departments for sending replies of the questions. Afterwards, the members of PML-N, MQM and ANP staged walkout from the House in protest against the secretaries of concerned ministries for not replying to the questions of the members.
