Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) criticised the routine closure of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in the city. In a joint statement issued here yesterday, they demanded of the government to take immediate step to resolve the CNG shortage issue. They further added the present government and its coalition partners during their 5-year of tenure have completely failed to ensure provision of basic necessities to the people.

The former JI legislators said the government has failed to implement SC verdict over the availability of CNG at reduced price, just for the sake of their interest. "The people are suffering from mental agony while standing in long queues at various CNG stations for obtaining fuel for their vehicles, but the ruling parties have not been bothered about the suffering of the citizens", JI legislators added.-PR
