Gas loadshedding in Faisalabad industries enters into 12th day. That's why industrialists and workers are staging protest demonstration against Federal Government. Paracha pointed-out that soap industry has great importance in the field of cleaning and washing arena. In the absence of gas supply the production of soap will be suffered and soap will be vanished/disappeared from the local market and consumers will ultimately suffer a lot; resultantly, on the other hand, the soap industry will come at the verge of ruin which will not be fatal only for the factory owners, but also for the labour class as well. This state of affair will finally create unemployment and further deteriorate law-and-order situation in the country at large.
Shahzad Mushtaq Parecha added that it is absolutely vital to provide gas to soap sector as non- availability of gas caused serious damage to the expensive equipment and furnaces. In the absence of gas supply our members tried their level best to operate the furnaces by utilising all other available energy resources which could not be proved useful, on the contrary, it caused massive damage to the existing infrastructure which is certainly not bearable for soap manufacturers.
He urged the government to control the recent situation without any further delay for the sake of economy. If regular supply of gas to industry is not possible, permission to import Furnace Oil without Sales Tax and Duty Free must be given to all soap manufacturing units, otherwise thousand of industrial workers, particularly the daily wagers would face retrenchment.-PR
