I would also like to felicitate the winners of the Export Awards on their commendable performance and wish them success in the future. In this increasingly globalise world where no successful economy can flourish without a strong and interactive relation among the institutions to create harness and facilitation to the local and foreign business men. With the joint efforts of BOI FPCCI we are amply successful to attain the confidence and trust of business men across the borders and improving the image of Pakistan.
Foreign Direct Investment plays a very important role in boosting of exports. Pakistan's investments reflect not just real capital coming into the country but also assist in creating the surge in production through economies of scale. Foreign investment also plays a crucial part in technology transfer, generating employment and the achievement of international export standards. The government's policies as they now stand offer a market-driven and pragmatic approach supported by an evolving institutional framework that facilitates export, free trade and financing to the local businesses.
The Board of Investment has also taken the initiative to set up Special Economic Zones (SEZs) which will further attract foreign investment to improve the economic condition in the country. The BOI has also adopted a policy of public-private partnerships and offer incentives and facilities to local and foreign businesses. I would like to reassure investors, traders and business men of our commitment to facilitate and encourage them in their endeavour in building an economically strong Pakistan. We shall work together to provide a conducive and congenial economic environment to ameliorate the people of Pakistan.
