The family members of kidnapped Wapda employees on Monday staged a hunger strike camp outside the Peshawar Press Club on Monday, for immediate recovery of their beloved one. The family members said that all the Wadpa employees had kidnapped by the militants for ransom on August 15, 2012, and demanded for Rs 150 million for release of the employees.

The militants, they said had contacted twice with the families for early arranging of the demanded amount for safe release with a deadline that in case, they failed in provision of the sum with one week, all of the captives would be killed.

The hostage employees are Zeshan, Shahid Ali Khan, Zijaj, Siraj, Munir, Liaqat, Mushtaq and Sanaullah. They said after getting no fruitful results from Wapda, they moved to the Peshawar High Court (PHC) wherein Chief Justice issued order to Secretary Law and Order for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Jamal Nasir to recover the abductees within one week.

They lamented despite the order of the court, none of political administration of the concerned agency, secretary and officials of Wapda contacted with the families in this regard. The next hearing of the concerned case, the grieved families, therefore, appealed to the CJ of PHC to summon Chairman Wapda for next hearing to be proceeded on December 19 in the current month.

They also demanded of the militants to release their loved ones without any demand as all of them belong to poor families and they can't afford the amount. They appealed human rights activist Ansar Barni, Edhi and other international organisations to take serious steps for safe recovery of the abducted their loved ones.
