The City police foiled a terrorist attack designed to blow up the most popular Shama Cinema near Bacha Khan Chowk by defusing a powerful bomb, police said on Monday. The police and Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) in a joint operation foiled a terror attempt to blow up the Shama cinema near Bacha Khan Chowk and defused two kilogram bomb safely.

Police informed BDU staff following information about presence of suspicious stuff placed close to Shama Cinema on Pajaggi Road on late Sunday night. The residents of Peshawar have appreciated the prompt response of Police and BDU staff.
