Interior Ministry issued red alert for all airports in the country and directed them to further boost their security. The red alert was issued in the wake of attack at Peshawar airport on Saturday night. The Ministry has sent letters to provincial police chiefs, home secretaries and chiefs of the ASF as well as the Defence Ministry to take appropriate measures.

Sources said the Ministry also ordered additional security in the Red zone.
