Federal Minister for National Regulations and Services, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that a strategy is being formulated for the promotion and expansion of homeopathic education across the country. Under the programme "Homeopathic Universities" would be established for producing qualified homeopathic doctors in the country she said.

Addressing a news conference on Saturday she said that a vigorous drive would soon be launched against the unqualified homeopathic doctors those playing with the health of the masses. She stressed upon the homeopathic doctors that they should help government in weeding out the quacks from the society and to ensure inexpensive way a treatment side by side allopathic treatment facilities to the masses in every nook and corner of the country.

At present she said there are 1.60 lakh registered homeopathic doctors in the country and government has decided to start degree classes instead of diploma courses of homeopathic classes aimed producing qualified doctors and for obtaining degree FSC would be made mandatory. The minister said data of registered homeopathic doctors would be collected and this process would be accomplished within two months.
