At least four persons, including two policemen working in the Crime Investigation Department (CID), were killed in separate incidents of violence in the Sindh metropolis on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, the body of the first CID man named Khurram, son of Chaudry Manzoor, was found from the Dhobi Ghat area in the jurisdiction of Garden police station.

His body bore marks of torture. SHO Garden Fateh Muhammad said that the deceased was deployed in CID and lived in the Baldia area. He said that the victim had been shot twice in his head. The body of the other CID man named Sohail, son of Muhammad Yousuf, was found near the Suparco Road in the limits of Maripur police station. The deceased was 26 years old.

Police officials said that the deceased also lived in Baldia Town's Sector 11. DSP Mazhar Mashwani said both men had gone missing after leaving their respective offices to verify a tips forwarded by an informer about the presence of some criminals in Baldia Town. He said both of the deceased had been severely tortured and then murdered. An unidentified man was gunned down near Banaras Bridge while a political worker named Nawaz lost his life in a drive-by shooting in the Orangi Town area.
