Annual election 2012-13 of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) postponed on Saturday due to prevailing tension in the city. Now, the polls will be held on Wednesday, December 19. The tension in the city which began on Friday night remained visible during the day and forced the KBA to postpone its already scheduled elections for 2012-13 till December 19.

Election Commissioner, District and Session Judge, Ahmed Saba held a meeting with concerned officials of KBA to discuss the city's situation, which has barred a large number of lawyers to attend the polls. There were fears that the city's tense situation will scale down the voters at polls.

Latter, talking to newsmen, President KBA, Mehmoodul Hassan said that all arrangements for smooth polling had been made but the overnight growing tension in the city caused the postponement of the election. There are 5,885 eligible voters of KBA who will now participate in December 19 polls.
