In order to facilitate importers, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to open all Model Customs Collectorates (MCCs) on Saturdays this month. Sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that FBR had directed the Chief Collectors of Customs to co-ordinate with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to provide banking facility at all of its listed designated branches on Saturdays during December to ensure smooth collection of duties and taxes.

The FBR has also requested the Governor SBP Karachi to issue instructions to the NBP to provide banking facility in the designated branches of Karachi to collect duties and taxes on behalf of the federal government on Saturdays. The FBR has separately requested the President NBP Karachi to provide banking facility at the relevant designated branches of Karachi to collect duties and taxes on behalf of federal government from these Saturdays.
