Three PPP MPAs resigned from the Punjab Assembly due to differences with the party. They submitted their resignations to the provincial assembly secretariat. The dissidents of the PPP are included Jamil Shah, Nishat Ahmed Daha and Babur Hussain. All the three members belong to the Khanewal district. Party sources said all the three members had duly informed the party about their decision.

Nishat Daha had made clear to the party leadership that he would not context next election on the PPP ticket, they added. Earlier, they had called on Tauqeer Shah, Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, a day earlier and handed over their resignations after contacting the Chief Minister. It is reliably learnt that PML-N has assured of awarding party ticket to all the three MPAs in the upcoming general elections. This move has changed the political scene in the South Punjab where the electables have started approaching to PML-N for next elections.
