Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) remained tight lipped regarding the claims of economic team of the government that the government was engaged in 'back door' contacts with the party on approaching International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a new loan package.

Finance Ministry sources told Business Recorder that the government approached PML-N regarding arrangement with the IMF and also hinted at implementation of the complex economic reform during the tenure of caretaker set up to make things easier for the next government.

However, senior PML-N leaders including the party's central secretary information Senator Mushahidullah Khan and its deputy secretary-general Khurram Dastagir Khan remained quite and none responded to the query about the claims of government economic team, despite repeated text messages and telephone calls.
