The Karachi Port handled 60,975 tonnes of cargo comprising 50,438 tonnes of import cargo and 10,537 tonnes of export cargo including 2,571 loaded & empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 50,438 tonnes comprised 25,370 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,468 tonnes of general cargo; 5,000 tonnes of coal and 18,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 10,537 tonnes comprised 9,739 tonnes of containerised cargo and 798 tonnes of general cargo. As many as 2,571 containers comprising 1,814 containers import and 757 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There are three ships namely UASC Shuwaikh, Hanjin Durban and Warnow Mars with two container ships and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There are four vessels viz Kota Gembira, Jolly, UACC Shams and Georgia-M with two container ships, one oil tanker and one bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. There are two ships namely UASC Shuwaikh and Hanjin Durban with two container ships respectively An oil tanker namely UACC Shams sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while another ship namely Jolly with one container ship is expected to sail on Thursday.

There are two vessels viz APL Brisbane and Ital Moderna with two container ships respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while six vessels viz APL Chicago, West Scent, Capriole, Golden Gion, Bon Chem and Hopeful with two container ships, three ethanol tankers and one general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
