They said that Malkani informed concerned officials of department about this development and also asked them for the preparation of arrangement in this regard. "President Asif Ali Zardari in 1989, along with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, had visited Gorakh Hills and he is also taking keen interest in the development of this beautiful resort for the people of Sindh", they said.
In this connection, Engineer Nazir Ahmed Chakrani Director General Gorakh Hills Development Authority (GHDA) told Business Recorder that development work continued at the Gorakh hills station, including the construction of Tuck Shops, staff quarters, tourist huts, rehabilitation of roads and water supply lines.
He said that the GHDA had accelerated the development work at Gorakh hills, and had submitted new schemes to the Planning and Development (P&D) department including widening of road from Wahi Pandhi to Gorakh hilltops and small bridges. He said that the GHDA is separately considering the alignment of a road from Wahi Pandhi to Gorakh hills top, for which PC-I of this scheme is under preparation. "It may be noted here that the Gorakh Hills station lies in the Khirthar Mountain Range which is the natural border of Sindh and Balochistan. It is in the west of Dadu district. It lies at 5688 feet high above sea level".
