The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Tuesday requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to facilitate Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) to cast their votes at camps in coming elections. In this connection, the PDMA KPK has sent a letter to ECP requesting for providing facilities of casting vote in upcoming general elections to IDPs in their camps, as thousands of IDPs are still livings at camps in the province.

The sources in PDMA confirmed that a letter in this regard has already been dispatched to the ECP. The PDMA urged the ECP that IDPS should be registered as voters and provided facilities of casting votes in their camps. According to PDMA statistics, as many as 17,082 affected families from Khyber Agency are presently living at Jalozai camps while 68,113 affected families are living outside the camp. At least 2,000 affected families are living in Togh Saraya camp in Hangu. PDMA also appealed NADRA to send mobile teams to the camps for making national identity cards of those young men who have reached the age 18 years, they concluded.
