Former federal minister Allama Hamid Saeed Kazmi has said that President Asif Ali Zardari could not interfere or influence the forthcoming general elections because he had already surrendered his power to the premier and the parliament. Opposition should not make hue and cry on this issue.

Talking to newsmen at the Qul-Khawani of Senator Malik Salahuddin Dogar on Monday he said that he would contest the elections on PPP ticket from his constituency of Ahmedpur east. Kazmi said that government did not defend him when his case of Hajj scam was in process and left him at mercy of investigation agency. However, government's attitude proved beneficial for him and it developed a public opinion that government did not influence the investigation agencies. People acknowledged his innocence in this scam and still love to him. Kazmi said that our family never used backdoors nor exploited the status nor minted money through unfair means.
