Federal government has inspected as many as 361 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations, issued show cause notices to 41 and fined Rs 1.05 million to 36 stations. Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Resources Rukhsana Jamshed Buttar told this to the National Assembly while responding the Calling Attention Notice regarding closure of CNG stations in Islamabad.

She said that poor people like rickshaw drivers were suffering due to closure of CNG stations. She said that the CNG stations owners wanted to increase the price of gas. She said that the matter was in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, adding that the government would implement whatsoever is the judgement of the Apex Court.
