During the last week Shalimar Police registered three cases of robbery and one case of car lifting, Kohsar Police registered two cases each of car lifting and robbery and three cases of car jacking have been reported to Sabzi Mandi Police Station. Similarly, Secretariat Police Station registered three cases of robbery and Raman police registered two cases of robbery during the same period.
Abpara, Margalla and Lohi Beer Police registered one case each of robbery and car jacking during last week. While Industrial Area and Golra Police Station have registered one case each of car lifting and Shehzad Town Police Station registered one case of robbery during the same period.
A senior police official on the condition of anonymity said that the main reason of rising crime rate in the city is unskilled investigation officers and poor and ineffective planning. The incompetence of investigation officers provides benefit to the criminals therefore police department need to appoint competent investigation officers, he said.
He said that the slow process of investigation of police provides help to the criminals as well as encourage criminals to commit more crimes. The theft of 11 cars and looting of 14 houses in just seven days belies the claims of police as it means that the criminals are still doing their business fearlessly, he said.
