Dr Muhammad Amjad, former federal minister and a senior vice president of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), met Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday at the PM House and joined the Pakistan People's party (PPP). Dr Amjid was considered a very close to former military ruler Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz. The PM hailed Dr Amjad's decision to join People's Party as a testimony of the popularity and trust that the people have in the party leadership.

He expressed hope that with his joining, the party will be further strengthened. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and GB, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo and Haji Nawaz Khokhar, former parliamentarian, were also present on the occasion.
