The Lahore High Court on Friday directed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to decide within a month application of ex-captain of Pakistan cricket team Salim Malik requesting to become batting coach of the national cricket team. The court disposed of the petition of Saleem Malik seeking directions to PCB for his appointment as coach.

Earlier, Saleem Malik's counsel said that the time period by inquiry commission on playing or participating in cricket activities had lapsed. He had applied to the board for his appointment as coach but PBC was not deciding this application. It may be recalled that a commission headed by then LHC Malik Mohammad Qayyum recommended for action against Salim Malik as allegation of indulging in match-fixing was proved against him.
