A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) and Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) Mirpur Azad Kashmir along with inauguration of Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) in the Department of Business and Management Sciences held at MUST. General Manager Out Reach SMEDA Muhammad Alamgir Choudhry and Vice Chancellor MUST Dr Muhammad Sarwar Ahmad performed the ceremony jointly.

Speaking on the occasion the Vice Chancellor MUST appreciated SMEDA for taking this initiative and posing confidence in the university to implement this task. While addressing the ceremony General Manager Out Reach SMEDA said that we are striving hard for the development of SMEs across the country and this EDC will help produce new breed of talented entrepreneurs in Mirpur Azad Kashmir. Alamgir Choudhry advised the students to benefit from EDC and urged them to follow the spirit of "Never Give UP" in their endeavours while establishing and running their own business.

The main objective of establishing EDC was to inculcate concept of entrepreneurship among the students of MUST enabling them to establish their own businesses after completing their education. Besides, it will also help generating employment opportunities in the region. The EDC will also focus on development of linkages between MUST and the industry.
