Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain has said that the corruption was a menace of the society which was creating hurdles in the process of national and social development. Addressing a seminar held at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium under the joint arrangements of Anti-Corruption Establishment, Directorate of Colleges and Faisalabad Arts Council in connection with Anti-Corruption Week, he said that the overall attitude of the society should be changed towards right direction to curb the curse of corruption.

He advised that the students should be inculcated regarding the clear difference of right or wrong which would help to emerge the new society of corruption free. There are various kinds of corruptions including professional, intellectual and financial corruption and all aspects of corruption should be eradicated from the society to make Pakistan corruption free, he added. The Commissioner appreciated the arrangements of the seminar and urged that such activities should be made as regular features to raise the awareness among the general public against the corruption and its control.

Director Anti-Corruption Establishment Amir Ejaz Akbar highlighted the objectives of celebration of anti corruption week and said that the menace of corruption was increasing due to ignorance so as different measures were being taken to apprise the general public of the ways and means to lodge complaints against the corrupt officials with anti corruption. He cleared that anti corruption establishment could not be achieved the desire results to control the corruption without the co-operation of the civil society.

He thanked the guests and the participants for attending seminar with enthusiasm. Director Colleges Rana Munawar Khan, Assistant Director Shahzia Samdani, Director Punjab Group of Colleges Mian Riffat Iqbal, Anwarul Sherazi and others are also spoke on the occasion while students Muhammad Aun Azeem and Komal Shakeel delivered English and Urdu speeches on the subject of anti-corruption while students of Sandal Public School, Pakistan Model School and Punjab College presented tableau and band show.

Earlier, Divisional Commissioner inaugurated the paintings exhibition and witnessed the paintings created by the students in district and divisional competitions on the subject of anti-corruption. The Commissioner lauded the qualities of the students and said that the paintings competitions would help to raise the awareness among the students against the corruption.
