Export from the Attari-Wagah border may rise to Rs 10 billion in three years by focusing on trade diplomacy with India. This was stated by eminent business experts and CEO Harvest Tradings, Ahmad Jawad while talking to APP on Friday. He said, "We believe in trade diplomacy and peace is vital for long-term relations and we need to identify areas of economic co-operation."

Joint ventures, out-sourcing and sharing of technology will further expand trade, he said. He said that information on agriculture processing industries and floriculture etc could give farmers diversity that they needed in making intelligent decisions. He said that export from the Attari-Wagah border was Rs 2 billion which can jump to 10 billion in 3 years. "Amritsar and Lahore immediately require consulate offices. The check-post is around 30 km from Amritsar in India and 20 km from Lahore in Pakistan. Both cities are major trading centres and with enhanced trade the cost of imported items from each other is likely to fall considerably," he added.
